Marianne Dey is a Scottish artist whose work in recent years has been landscape based.
A graduate of Edinburgh Collage of Art.
In the last 5 years she has been working predominately in inks, drawing and painting outside, although challenging is at the heart of Marianne’s work.
She believes drawing from life is vital, and that painting under pressure helps to strip away the elements that are not important.
Her steady draughtsmanship and early chiaroscuro training have given her a strong understanding of light and form which is evident in her work.
As well as her mountain landscapes she is also known for her depictions of Scottish Churches and trees.
